Singapore Launches SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support: Up to $4,500 for Unemployed Citizens

New Government Scheme for Unemployed Singaporeans

The SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support scheme is now open for applications, offering financial aid to eligible Singaporeans who have lost their jobs due to unforeseen circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must be aged 21 and above, have worked in Singapore for at least six months in the past year, and earned an average monthly income of S$5,000 or less. They must also have been unemployed for at least one month since their last day of work.

Application Details

Special consideration is given to those who lost their jobs on or after April 1, 2024, with applications accepted until June 15. Permanent residents will be eligible starting in the first quarter of 2026.

Payout Structure

Participants can receive up to S$1,500 in the first month, decreasing over six months, capped at their previous average monthly income. The scheme aims to support job seekers until they secure employment.

Program Requirements

Applicants must complete job search activities and submit proof through an online portal. The government has allocated S$200 million annually, expecting to assist over 60,000 individuals.
