Singapore Boosts Household Support with $380 Vouchers Amid Rising Living Costs

Support for Singaporean Households

In a move to alleviate the financial pressure on its citizens, the Singaporean government has announced that households will receive $380 in vouchers next month. These vouchers are part of a broader cost-of-living support initiative.

How to Use the Vouchers

Recipients can utilize half of the vouchers at participating hawker stalls and heartland merchants, with the other half redeemable at supermarkets. This dual approach aims to support local businesses while providing relief to families.

Details on the Scheme

Announced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in his Budget 2025 speech, this initiative is a continuation of a scheme launched in 2020 to combat the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The vouchers are valid until December 31, 2025.

Additional Benefits

Later this year, Singaporeans aged 21 and above will also receive SG60 vouchers as part of the city-state’s 60th-anniversary celebrations, further easing the financial burden on its citizens.
