US Oil Rig Count Sees Slight Increase to 481 Amid Annual Decline, Baker Hughes Reports

The United States witnessed a marginal increase in its oil rig count, reaching 481 in the week ending April 17, as per the latest Baker Hughes report. This marks a rise of one rig from the previous week, yet reflects a significant annual decrease of 30 rigs.

Gas Rig and Total Rig Counts

Meanwhile, the gas rig count in the U.S. also saw an uptick by one, totaling 98 for the reported week. However, this figure is down by eight compared to the same period last year. The overall rig count in the country stands at 585, showing a weekly decrease of two and an annual drop of 34.

Canadian Rig Statistics

In contrast, Canada experienced a decline in its total rig count by four, now at 134. The oil rig count in Canada decreased by four to 87, while the gas rig count remained steady at 47, unchanged from the previous week.
