Italy's Inflation Climbs to 1.9% in March: A Slight Increase from February's Figures

Italy's Inflation Rises in March

According to the final report released by Italy's National Statistics Office (INE) on Wednesday, the annual inflation rate in Italy increased to 1.9% in March, up from 1.6% in February. This figure was slightly lower than the preliminary reading.

Monthly and Core Consumer Prices

On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) saw a 0.3% rise. Meanwhile, core consumer prices, which exclude energy and unprocessed food, experienced a 1.7% year-over-year increase.

Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices

The Italian harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) showed a 1.6% monthly rise and a 2.1% annual growth in March.
