
Industrial Production Slows Down
In a recent provisional report by Destatis, Germany's Federal Statistical Office, it was revealed that industrial production in the manufacturing sector experienced a 1.3% decrease on a monthly basis in February. This marks a significant downturn, with a 4% drop compared to the same month last year.
Sector-Specific Declines
The construction industry wasn't spared, witnessing a 3.2% decline from the previous month. The food industry manufacturing and energy production sectors also faced challenges, with dips of 5.3% and 3.3% respectively.
Further Drops in Production
Adding to the concerning figures, the production of intermediate goods saw a slight decrease of 0.4%. Meanwhile, the output of consumer goods and consumer goods experienced a more pronounced fall, dropping by 3.0% from January 2025.
