What is the Gold Card?

"It's going to give you green card privileges plus it’s going to be a route to (American) citizenship, and wealthy people would be coming into our country by buying this card," Trump said.

Eligibility and Vetting Process

Trump mentioned that "people with money" could qualify, without specifying job-creation requirements. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick assured that buyers would undergo a vetting process to ensure they are "wonderful, world class global citizens."

Replacing the EB-5 Visa Program

The gold card aims to replace the EB-5 visa program, criticized for fraud and favoritism. Lutnick stated, "The EB-5 program... it was full of nonsense, make-believe and fraud." The new initiative seeks to simplify the residency process while boosting the economy.
