Toyota Surges Ahead: US Sales Grow 0.9% with EVs Jumping 39.6% in Q1 2025

Toyota's US Sales Show Modest Growth with EV Sales Skyrocketing

Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) reported a slight yearly increase of 0.9% in its first-quarter sales for 2025, totaling 507,269 vehicles in the United States. The standout story, however, was the electric vehicle (EV) segment, which saw an impressive 39.6% surge, reaching 288,796 units.

March Sales Highlight Consumer Shift Towards EVs

March figures were particularly telling, with the automaker selling 231,335 vehicles, marking a 7.7% annual increase. EV sales in March alone jumped by 44.1% year-over-year, totaling 112,608 units, signaling a strong consumer shift towards electric mobility.

Mark Templin, TMNA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, attributed the steady sales performance to improved inventory levels and the introduction of new models, such as the Toyota 4Runner and Lexus LX hybrid, which have been well-received by the market.
