Spain's Inflation Rate Drops to 2.3% in March, Marking a Significant Decrease from Previous Month

Spain Sees a Dip in Inflation Rates

According to the preliminary reading by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE) on Friday, the annual inflation rate in Spain decreased to 2.3% in March, down from 3% in April. This marks a noticeable easing in price pressures within the economy.

Monthly and Core Consumer Prices

Consumer prices experienced a slight increase of 0.1% month over month. Meanwhile, core consumer prices, which exclude volatile items such as food and energy, saw an annual rise of 2% and a monthly growth of 0.4% during the same period.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP)

The HICP, a measure used to compare inflation rates across the European Union, rose by 0.7% on a monthly basis and 2.2% year over year in March, indicating a broader trend of moderated inflation.
