French Producer Prices See a Notable Decline

In a recent report released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies, it was revealed that the industry production prices in France experienced a 0.4% decrease in February compared to the same month in the previous year. Delving deeper into the data, producer prices for the home market saw a more pronounced drop of 1.4% year-over-year. On a monthly basis, the overall producer prices index fell by 0.5%, with the home market producer inflation declining by 0.8%.

However, when energy is excluded from the equation, the scenario changes. Producer prices jumped by 1.5% year-on-year and saw a modest increase of 0.1% month-on-month, indicating the significant impact of energy prices on the overall index.
