In a remarkable achievement, India's telephone subscriber base has reached a new milestone, touching 1.189 billion in December 2024. This growth signifies the expanding digital footprint across the nation, with Reliance Jio emerging as the undisputed leader in both mobile and fixed-line segments.

Market Leaders and Their Shares

Reliance Jio has captured a significant 50.4% of the market share, showcasing its dominance in the telecom sector. Bharti Airtel follows with a 30.6% share, while Vodafone Idea holds a 13.4% share in the broadband services segment. These figures, released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), highlight the competitive landscape of the telecom industry in India.
