According to a recent report by Eurostat, the unemployment rate in the Eurozone remained stable at 6.2% in January, mirroring December's figures. Meanwhile, the European Union recorded a slightly lower unemployment rate of 5.8%.

Regional Disparities Highlighted

Spain reported the highest unemployment rate at 10.4%, while Czechia and Poland boasted the lowest rates at 2.6%. This regional disparity underscores the uneven economic recovery across the Eurozone.

Significant Year-over-Year Improvement

Despite the stability in the unemployment rate, there has been a notable decrease in the number of unemployed individuals by 42,000 from December and a substantial reduction of 510,000 compared to January 2024. Currently, the Eurozone has an estimated 10.7 million unemployed people, with the EU as a whole accounting for 12.8 million.
