Turkey Sees a Slight Dip in Inflation Rates to 39.05% in February, What Does This Mean?

Annual Inflation Adjusts Downwards

In a recent report released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, it was revealed that Turkey's annual inflation rate has slightly decreased to 39.05% in February from 42.12% in January. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) also saw a month-on-month increase of 2.27%.

Sector-wise Inflation Analysis

According to the report, the clothing and footwear sector experienced the lowest annual increase at 20.84%. Conversely, the education sector was hit the hardest with a staggering 94.90% annual increase, marking it as the sector with the highest inflation rate.

Core CPI Insights

Excluding certain volatile items such as energy, food, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold, the core CPI in Turkey grew by 40.21% year over year in February. On a monthly basis, the core inflation rate was recorded at 1.80%.
