US Trade Deficit Surges in January
The United States saw its trade deficit increase significantly by 25.6% in January, reaching a staggering $153.3 billion, as reported by the US Census Bureau. This figure surpasses analysts' expectations, marking a notable rise from December's numbers.

Exports and Imports See a Rise
In the same period, exports of goods experienced a modest increase of $3.3 billion from the previous month, totaling $172.2 billion. Meanwhile, imports surged by $34.6 billion month-on-month, reaching $325.4 billion.
Wholesale Inventories Climb
Wholesale inventories also saw an uptick, rising by 0.7% on a monthly basis to an estimated $905.2 billion at the end of January. This represents a 1.1% increase compared to the same month in the previous year.
