According to the latest data released by the United States Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the sales of new single-family houses in December 2024 reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 698,000. This represents a significant month-on-month increase of 3.6% and an impressive annual jump of 6.7%.

Price Trends and Inventory Insights

In the same month, the median sales price for new houses was recorded at $427,000, with the average sales price slightly higher at $513,600. The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new houses available for sale by the end of December 2024 was 494,000, indicating an 8.5-month supply at the current sales rate.
