Japan's Nikkei 225 saw a modest increase of 0.35% by 7:29 am CET, while the dollar edged up 0.12% against the yen, trading at 142.4890 by 7:30 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng added a slight 0.13% at the same time. However, mainland China presented a mixed picture with the Shanghai Composite dipping 0.13% and the Shenzhen Composite jumping 0.87% shortly after.

Meanwhile, South Korea's Kospi experienced a decline of 0.65%, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 managed a 0.27% increase, both recorded at 7:32 am CET.
