Banco Santander has kicked off 2025 with impressive financial results, reporting a 1% year-on-year increase in revenue, reaching €15.5 billion. This growth is attributed to the addition of 9 million new customers, expanding its global customer base to 175 million.

Profit and Performance Metrics

The bank's profit saw a significant 19% rise to €3.4 billion, fueled by higher fee income and effective cost management. Notably, earnings per share surged by 26% to €0.21, showcasing the bank's robust financial health and operational efficiency.

Future Outlook and Goals

Santander remains committed to its 2025 objectives, including achieving €62 billion in revenue, a Return on Tangible Equity (RoTE) of 16.5%, and maintaining a CET1 ratio of 13%. Executive Chair Ana Botín highlighted the strong start to the year, emphasizing the bank's transformation success and operational improvements.
