Mother Dairy Increases Milk Prices
In a recent development, Mother Dairy has announced a price hike of up to Rs 2 per litre for its milk products, effective from April 30, 2025. This adjustment is a response to the escalating procurement costs, which have seen an increase of Rs 4-5 per litre over the past few months.
Impact on Consumers
The revised pricing will affect various milk categories sold in the Delhi-NCR region, where Mother Dairy distributes approximately 35 lakh litres daily. Notably, the price of loose toned milk has risen from Rs 54 to Rs 56 per litre, while full cream milk in pouches now costs Rs 69, up from Rs 68.
Commitment to Quality and Farmers
Despite the price adjustment, Mother Dairy remains dedicated to ensuring the availability of quality milk to consumers and supporting the livelihoods of farmers. The company emphasizes that this hike is a partial measure to balance the needs of both parties amidst rising costs.
The early onset of summer and subsequent heatwave conditions have been cited as primary reasons for the increased procurement costs.
