Spain's Inflation Rate Shows Modest Decline

The annual inflation rate in Spain slightly decreased to 2.2% in April, down from 2.3% in March, according to the preliminary report released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) on Tuesday. This figure was slightly higher than anticipated by economists.

Monthly and Core Inflation Trends

On a month-on-month basis, inflation saw an increase of 0.6%. Meanwhile, the core inflation rate, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, experienced a growth of 2.4% both yearly and monthly.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) remained steady at 2.2% compared to April 2024, with a monthly rise of 0.6%.
