This optimistic outlook is revealed in a collaborative report by the market research institute GfK and the Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions (NIM).

According to Rolf Buerkl, a consumer expert at NIM, the recent adjustments in the US administration's trade policy, including significant tariff hikes announced in early April, have not yet deeply affected German consumer sentiment. Buerkl suggests that the potential negative impacts are likely to be offset by the successful conclusion of coalition negotiations and the expected formation of a fully operational government.
