Power Restoration Underway in Spain
Spanish electricity grid operator Red Electrica announced on Monday that efforts to restore power have begun in parts of the country, following a significant blackout across the Iberian Peninsula.
"We are starting to recover power in the north and south of the peninsula, which is key to progressively meet the electricity supply," Red Electrica stated in a post on X. The operator emphasized that the process involves a gradual energization of the transmission grid as generation groups are coupled, with ongoing work to fully restore supply.
Widespread Impact Across Regions
Earlier reports from local media highlighted that the blackouts affected not only Spain and Portugal but also parts of France. The cause of these widespread outages remains unknown at this time.
