Uncertainty from the US Side

Adding to the confusion, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent expressed uncertainty about whether Trump had indeed spoken with President Xi. Trump, in his interview with Time magazine, boasted about making "200 deals" on tariffs and mentioned his conversation with Xi.
