ECB Official Voices Concerns Over US Economic Policies
Francois Villeroy de Galhau, a prominent member of the European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council and Governor of the Bank of France, has openly criticized the protectionist policies of US President Donald Trump. Speaking to RTL France on Monday, Villeroy highlighted the growing economic instability linked to these policies.
"The Trump administration's policies are not benefiting the American economy," Villeroy stated, pointing to the current climate of uncertainty that has left many questioning the effectiveness of the new presidency.
Optimism for Europe's Economic Future
Despite the challenges faced across the Atlantic, Villeroy remains optimistic about the economic outlook for France and Europe. He assured that there is still scope for interest rate reductions and dismissed fears of additional inflation in the region.
