Key Contributors to the Growth
The manufacturing sector, along with electricity and gas, played a pivotal role in this upward trend, registering impressive jumps of 2.2% and 2%, respectively. However, not all sectors shared in this success, as mining and quarrying saw a decline of 3%.
Long-Term Production Trends
Looking at the broader picture, total production over the three months leading up to February 2025 showed a 0.7% increase compared to the previous three-month period. When compared to February 2024, there was a modest rise of 0.1%, indicating steady growth in the UK's industrial production.
