Stranded Passengers' Ordeal Ends in Mumbai

After a grueling 40-hour delay in Turkey, over 260 passengers aboard a Virgin Atlantic flight from London finally touched down in Mumbai on Friday evening. The flight was initially diverted to Diyarbakır Airport due to a medical emergency, followed by unexpected technical issues with the aircraft.

Medical Emergency Leads to Unplanned Stop

The diversion was prompted by a passenger suffering a panic attack, necessitating an unscheduled landing. Subsequent inspections revealed technical problems, delaying the flight further. Virgin Atlantic apologized for the inconvenience and provided hotel accommodations for the stranded passengers.

Passengers Face Hardships

Among the passengers were individuals with serious medical conditions, pregnant women, and elderly travelers, who reported going without proper food for over 16 hours. The lack of facilities at the airport, including limited toilets and charging points, added to their distress.
