
Market Turmoil Continues
Major US stocks extended their losses on Thursday, as the latest trade balance and jobless claims data added to the market's volatility, already shaken by President Donald Trump's announcement of sweeping tariffs on imported goods.
Significant Declines Across the Board
The Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted by 2.88%, or 1217 points, while the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 saw declines of 4.17% and 3.60%, respectively, by 8:41 am ET. Amidst the turmoil, the euro surged 2.14% against the dollar, trading at 1.10850 shortly after.
