European stock markets faced significant losses this Friday, as leaders across the continent deliberate on a response to President Donald Trump's imposition of a 20% tariff on European Union exports and a 10% tariff on the United Kingdom's.
Indexes and Currencies Hit Hard
The DAX experienced a sharp decline, dropping by 2.13% or 463 points by 10:35 am CET. Similarly, the CAC 40 fell by 1.76%, the Euro Stoxx 50 by 2.10%, and the FTSE 100 by 1.44%, showcasing widespread market unease.
Currency markets weren't spared either, with the euro losing 0.49% against the dollar, and the pound sterling dropping by 0.85%, further highlighting the economic strain.
