VN-Index Sees Slight Increase Amid Mixed Performances of Blue Chips and Foreign Investors' Net Selling

Market Overview

The VN-Index experienced a marginal gain, closing 0.50 points higher after a significant rise of 10.47 points in the previous session. Trading volume on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange saw a 28% increase, reaching VND19.296 trillion (US$752.4 million).

Performance of Key Stocks

In the VN-30 basket, which includes the 30 largest capped stocks, 10 tickers recorded gains. Notably, SSI of SSI Securities Corporation increased by 1.5%, FPT of FPT Corporation rose by 1.24%, and VIC of Vingroup closed 1.17% higher.

Conversely, 17 blue chips declined, with SSB of SeABank dropping 1.8%, BVH of Bao Viet Holdings decreasing by 1.14%, and STB of Sacombank witnessing a 1.13% fall.

Foreign Investment Trends

Foreign investors were net sellers, divesting VND708 billion, primarily from ACB of Asia Commercial Bank and MWG of Mobile World.

Other Indices

The HNX-Index for mid and small caps on the Hanoi Stock Exchange rose by 0.73%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market saw a 0.19% increase.
