4-Week Average Also Sees a Dip
Further reinforcing the positive trend, the 4-week moving average of jobless claims also decreased by 1,250 to 223,000, indicating a steady improvement in employment conditions.
Insured Unemployment Rate Experiences a Slight Increase
Despite the overall positive news, the advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate saw a minor uptick to 1.3% for the week ending March 22. However, the number of insured unemployed individuals dropped by 56,000 to 1,903,000, with the 4-week moving average declining by 2,250 to 1,870,000.
