Yazaki's Strategic Expansion in Chennai
Japanese auto parts giant Yazaki is broadening its global footprint with the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility in Chennai, India. This move marks a significant step in Yazaki's strategy to reinforce its presence in the Indian market, now spanning over one million square feet across key locations including NCR, Hosur, and the newly added Chennai.

Collaboration with Horizon Industrial Parks
The new facility, developed in collaboration with Horizon Industrial Parks, Blackstone’s logistics platform in India, is a testament to Yazaki's commitment to sustainable and efficient manufacturing. Spanning 3.16 lakh square feet in Horizon’s Chengalpet Industrial Park, the plant is designed for rooftop solar power and will employ over 2,000 workers.
Chengalpet: The Emerging Industrial Hub
Chengalpet is rapidly evolving into a pivotal manufacturing hub, thanks to infrastructure developments like the new peripheral ring road connecting to the Chennai port. The area hosts leading companies from IT, chip manufacturing, electronics, and automotive sectors, further bolstered by the upcoming SIDCO industrial estate in Kodur Village.
Sustainability at the Core
Yazaki's partnership with Horizon extends beyond Chennai, with two additional plants in Hosur and NCR, both recognized for their sustainability efforts with platinum ratings by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). P V Raju, CEO of Yazaki India, highlights the importance of quality infrastructure and a dust-free environment for manufacturing excellence, ensuring the safety and well-being of their workforce.
