UPI Achieves Unprecedented Transaction Volume and Value

In an astonishing display of growth, UPI has set a new benchmark by processing 1,830 crore transactions worth Rs 24.8 lakh crore in March alone. This represents a 36% year-on-year increase in volume and a 25% rise in value, surpassing February's figures of 1,611 crore transactions amounting to nearly Rs 22 lakh crore.

Daily Transactions Reach New Heights

On average, UPI now handles 59 crore transactions daily, or an impressive 6,800 every second, with a daily transaction value of Rs 79,910 crore. The platform's previous peak in transaction value was recorded in October 2024, during festive and online sales, reaching Rs 23.5 lakh crore.

Annual Growth Highlights UPI's Dominance

For the full fiscal year 2025, UPI transactions totaled 18,586 crore, with a value of Rs 260.5 lakh crore. This marks an annual increase of 41% in volume and 30% in value compared to FY24's 13,113 crore transactions worth Rs 200 lakh crore.
