Yearly and Monthly Declines Highlighted

In a revealing report released on Friday, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies of France disclosed a 0.4% decrease in producer prices for February compared to the previous year. The overall producer prices index witnessed a 0.5% drop on a monthly basis, with the domestic market's producer inflation decreasing by 0.8%. These figures underscore the ongoing adjustments within the French industrial sector.

Excluding Energy, Prices Tell a Different Story

When energy costs are excluded from the equation, the scenario shifts dramatically. Producer prices saw a 1.5% increase year-on-year and a modest 0.1% rise month-on-month, highlighting the significant impact of energy prices on the overall index.
