Turkey's Inflation Rate Dips Slightly in March, Yet Housing and Food Prices Continue to Soar

Annual Inflation Shows a Marginal Decline

According to the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkey's annual inflation rate experienced a slight decrease to 38.10% in March from February's 39.05%. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) also saw a month-on-month increase of 2.46%.

Sector-Specific Price Surges

Breaking down the figures, housing prices witnessed an astronomical rise of 68.63% year-on-year, while food and non-alcoholic beverage prices escalated by 37.12%. Transportation costs weren't far behind, with a significant jump of 21.59%.

Core Inflation Insights

Excluding volatile items such as energy, food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold, the CPI still marked a substantial annual growth of 37.42% and a monthly increase of 1.46%.
