Empowering Farmers Through FPOs

The export was facilitated by the Brijnandan Agro Farmer Producer Company (FPC), which boasts 545 members, including two women directors. This FPO, with the support of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), is not just exporting jaggery but also sugarcane products, Basmati rice, and pulses, marking a new chapter in the region's agricultural exports.

In another stride towards enhancing India's floriculture exports, a consignment of Anthurium flowers from Aizawl, Mizoram, was shipped to Singapore. This effort, a collaboration between APEDA, the department of horticulture, and the Mizoram government, highlights the potential of the Northeastern region in the global floriculture market.
