Japan's Nikkei 225 remained flat, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng and South Korea's Kospi saw declines of 1.18% and 0.49%, respectively. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Composite also fell, by 0.71% and 1.50%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 closed with a 0.48% loss.
