
Unemployment Rate Remains Unchanged
In February, Switzerland's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained stable at 2.7%, as reported by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). This figure mirrors the previous month's rate, indicating a period of economic stability in the country.
Changes in Unemployment Figures
The number of unemployed individuals saw a slight increase of 1.6% month-on-month, totaling 125,044. Interestingly, while the number of unemployed youth decreased by 2.1% from the previous month to 12,087, it marked a significant 19.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Job Market Overview
February also saw a total of 212,699 job seekers in Switzerland, a minor decrease of 104 from January. The job seeker rate remained constant at 4.6%. On a brighter note, the number of reported vacancies rose by 5.6% from the previous month to 44,398, indicating a 2.4% increase from February 2024.
