ECB President Christine Lagarde on Eurozone Wage Growth and Inflation
In a recent address to the European Parliament, European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde shared insights on the current state of wage growth within the euro area. "While elevated, wage growth is moderating as expected," Lagarde noted, signaling a cautious optimism about the economic landscape.

Lagarde also touched upon the challenges posed by global trade tensions, which could potentially make the Eurozone's inflation outlook more uncertain. Despite these challenges, she reassured that "inflation is set to return to our 2% medium-term target in the course of this year," acknowledging the presence of both upside and downside risks.
Emphasizing the ECB's commitment to combating inflation, Lagarde stated that the central bank would continue to make decisions on a meeting-by-meeting basis, ensuring a responsive and flexible approach to economic management.
