January Sees a Dip in Tesla's China Deliveries
In a surprising turn of events, Tesla Inc.'s electric vehicle deliveries in China for January 2024 experienced an 11.5% decline compared to the same period last year, as reported by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). The total number of vehicles delivered stood at 63,238 units.

BYD Outpaces Tesla with Significant Growth
Contrastingly, Tesla's local competitor BYD showcased a remarkable performance, delivering 296,446 vehicles in January. This represents a 47.5% increase from January 2023, despite a 41.8% decrease from the previous month.
Model 3 and Model Y Face a Monthly Decline
Further analysis by the CPCA revealed that the deliveries of China-made Model 3 and Model Y units saw a 32.6% decrease month-over-month, highlighting the competitive and volatile nature of the Chinese electric vehicle market.
