Unexpected Rise in Tokyo's Inflation Rate
The annual inflation rate in Tokyo's Ku-area has taken an unexpected leap, reaching 3.4% in January. This marks a significant increase from the 3% rate recorded in December, as reported by the Statistics Bureau of Japan this Friday.
Core CPI Figures Show Steady Growth
Delving deeper into the data, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), excluding fresh food and energy, showed a slight uptick to 1.9% from last month's 1.8%. Similarly, the CPI excluding only fresh food rose to 2.5%, up from 2.4% in the previous month, indicating a steady growth in core inflation rates.
