Swiss Economy Shows Signs of Recovery in January

In a promising turn of events, the KOF Economic Barometer for Switzerland climbed to 101.6 points in January, up from 99.6 in December 2024, as reported by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute. This improvement signals a slight recovery into the above-average range following a decline at the end of the previous year.
Sector-wise Growth and Challenges
The report highlighted positive developments across most production-side indicator bundles. Notably, manufacturing, other services, financial and insurance services, and hospitality sectors contributed significantly to this uptick. However, the construction industry faced challenges, with indicators showing signs of weakening. Additionally, foreign demand and private consumption indicators exhibited a downward trend, pointing to areas that may require attention in the coming months.
