This development comes after Trump hinted at possibly granting TikTok a 90-day extension to avoid a ban in the US, a topic he discussed with the media earlier.

Earlier in the day, TikTok experienced a temporary shutdown before the legislation banning it was to take effect. The app, along with Lemon8 and CapCut, owned by TikTok's parent company, ByteDance Ltd., was also removed from the Apple and Google Play stores.
