L'Oreal Adds Dr.G to Its Consumer Products Division
L'Oreal Groupe has announced its acquisition of Gowoonsesang Cosmetics, the parent company of Korean skincare brand Dr.G, from Swiss retail giant Migros Group. This strategic move further solidifies L'Oreal's presence in the competitive Korean skincare market.
Founded in 2003 by dermatologist Dr. Gun Young Ahn, Dr.G is renowned for its science-driven, affordable skincare solutions. Headquartered in Seoul, the brand offers a range of ingredient-focused products, including its popular R.E.D Blemish Clear Soothing Cream. Dr.G's strong market position in South Korea, ranking among the top mass-market skincare brands, is complemented by its diverse sales mix across online and offline channels.
"We are excited to welcome Dr.G to the L'Oreal family," said Alexis Perakis-Valat, Global President of L'Oreal's Consumer Products Division. "Our mission is to democratize and premiumize beauty by bringing the best of Korean skincare to consumers worldwide. We look forward to accelerating Dr.G's growth both in South Korea and globally."
