Israel Signs Major Air Defense Deal with Slovakia, Strengthening Defense Exports

Israel's Defense Ministry Announces €560M Deal with Slovakia

Israel's Defense Ministry has announced a significant agreement with Slovakia, signing a €560 million deal to sell the advanced Barak MX Integrated Air Defense System. The deal, which was signed by Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir in Tel Aviv, involves collaboration with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).

The Barak MX system is designed to counter a wide range of aerial threats, including ballistic missiles and drones. With operational ranges of 35, 70, and 150 km, the system offers flexible and high-performance interception capabilities, making it a valuable asset for Slovakia's defense strategy.

According to the ministry, this sale marks a "significant milestone in defense cooperation" and underscores the growing strength of Israel's defense export sector. Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir emphasized the importance of this deal, stating, "The expansion of Israeli defense exports in parallel with the war is a direct continuation of the achievements of Israeli technologies on the battlefield. We see growing interest from additional countries in the extraordinary performance of the IDF and Israeli combat systems, both in defense and offense."
