Aadhaar Card Update Deadline Approaching
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended a valuable opportunity for Aadhaar cardholders to update their information free of charge through the myAadhaar portal. This service will remain free until December 14, 2024. Residents who have relocated or changed personal details are encouraged to reflect these changes in their Aadhaar records to ensure accuracy and efficient service delivery.
UIDAI recommends updating Aadhaar Card details once every decade to maintain accuracy.
How to Update Aadhaar Online
To modify your Aadhaar Card details through the online portal, follow these steps:
- Access myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
- Select 'Login', input your Aadhaar number and captcha code, then request OTP. Once received, enter the OTP and proceed with login.
- Choose 'Document Update'.
- Review the provided guidelines and proceed.
- Confirm the accuracy of details by ticking the verification box.
- Submit your identity and address proof documents.
Upon completion, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) through email for tracking your update request status.
Aadhaar Card Update Charges
For those updating after the deadline, charges will apply as follows:
- Biometric update: ₹100
- Demographic update: ₹50
- Document update at Aadhaar centre: ₹50
Residents can also utilize the Bhuvan Aadhaar Portal to locate nearby centres for document submission.
