ECB's Holzmann Suggests a 'Moderate' Interest Rate Cut is on the Horizon

ECB's Governing Council Member Signals Potential Rate Cut

Robert Holzmann, a member of the European Central Bank's (ECB) Governing Council and the Governor of the Austrian National Bank (OeNB), has indicated that any interest rate cut at the upcoming ECB meeting on December 12 would be 'moderate'.

Holzmann's comments, published by Oberoesterreichische Nachrichten on Tuesday, come as inflation trends have been moving as expected, despite some recent unexpected upward pressure.

With the next rate decision just a week away, analysts are speculating whether the ECB will opt for a 25 basis points or 50 basis points rate cut.
