The United States job market displayed resilience in March with 7.2 million job openings, a slight decrease from February's 7.6 million, as reported by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. This figure fell short of analysts' expectations, with the job opening rate stabilizing at 4.3%.

Hires and Separations Remain Steady

According to the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), the number of hires held steady at 5.4 million, mirroring the previous month's figures, and the hires rate remained unchanged at 3.4%.

Quits Rate on the Rise

Total separations saw a minor adjustment, with numbers slightly declining to 5.1 million from February, and the separations rate dipping by 0.1 percentage point to 3.2%. Notably, the quits rate increased to 2.1%, with 3.3 million quits recorded in March.
