Infosys Dismisses Trainees Failing Internal Assessments

Infosys has recently dismissed an additional 195 trainees who did not pass their internal assessment tests, bringing the total number of affected trainees since February to over 800. Among these, approximately 250 have enrolled in upskilling programmes through UpGrad and NIIT, with about 150 opting for outplacement assistance.

Support and Opportunities for Affected Trainees

Infosys has extended support to the dismissed trainees by offering one month's salary as ex-gratia, a relieving letter, and access to outplacement assistance and counselling services. Additionally, the company has partnered with educational platforms NIIT and UpGrad to provide complimentary upskilling programmes. These include a 12-week training programme for roles in the BPM industry and a 24-week course on IT fundamentals for those pursuing a career in Information Technology.

Despite requests for comments on these developments, Infosys has not responded, leaving many questions unanswered regarding the future of the trainees and the company's hiring strategies.
