US Natural Gas Storage Sees Significant Weekly Increase Amid Yearly Decline, EIA Reports

Weekly Surge in Natural Gas Inventories

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported a notable increase in U.S. natural gas inventories, with a weekly rise of 88 billion cubic feet (Bcf) for the week ending April 18. This brings the total working gas storage to 1,934 Bcf.

Comparative Analysis Shows Decline

Despite the weekly increase, the figures reveal a significant decline of 478 Bcf compared to the same period last year. Additionally, current stocks remain 44 Bcf below the five-year average of 1,978 Bcf, positioning the total working gas within the five-year historical range.
