Japan's Services Sector Gains Momentum

In a positive turn of events, Japan's services sector has shown a notable improvement in April. The au Jibun Bank Flash Services Business Activity Index climbed to 52.2, up from 50.0 in March, as per the preliminary report by S&P Global released on Wednesday.

Overall Private Sector Activity on the Rise

The Flash Composite Output Index, which measures the overall private sector activity, also witnessed an increase, moving up to 51.1 from 48.9 in March.

"Japan's private sector has bounced back to growth in April, with businesses reporting an uptick in activity for the fifth time in six months," remarked Annabel Fiddes, Economics Associate Director at S&P Global Market Intelligence, in the report.
