Solar Initiatives Transforming Rural Life

Under the natural resource management pillar, HDFC Bank has already installed over 61,655 solar streetlights across 22 states. These efforts extend beyond lighting, enhancing rural life through improved street safety, access to drinking water, farming, food processing, and livelihood opportunities.

Solar Shiksha: Bridging the Awareness Gap

Recognizing the challenges in solar energy adoption, HDFC Bank introduced Solar Shiksha, an awareness program aimed at demystifying solar energy for semi-urban India. The initiative educates communities on government schemes and subsidies, providing practical demonstrations to overcome barriers to adoption.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

"Our solar energy initiatives under Parivartan are designed to bring real, measurable change," said Kaizad Bharucha, HDFC Bank Deputy Managing Director. The bank's commitment to scaling up impactful models across India underscores its dedication to sustainable development and the democratization of solar energy.
