Global Economic Growth Adjusted Downward
The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has revised its global economic growth forecast for 2025 down to 3%, from last month's estimate of 3.1%. This adjustment reflects growing concerns over trade uncertainties impacting major economies worldwide.
US and Eurozone Economic Outlook
The United States is expected to see a slowdown in growth, with projections of 2.1% in 2025 and a slight increase to 2.2% in 2026. The Eurozone's growth forecast has been adjusted downward to 0.8% for 2025, with no change anticipated for 2026 at 1.1%.
China's Resilience Amid Challenges
China, however, is projected to grow by 4.6% in 2025 and 4.5% in 2026. OPEC highlights China's potential to mitigate the impact of US tariffs through domestic stimulus measures and diversification of export markets.
Global growth for 2026 is now projected at 3.1%, a slight decrease from the previous forecast of 3.2%.
